Paul "Sir Raggedy" Flagg was a disc jockey on WIGO radio in Atlanta, Georgia in the mid 60's. He did the morning show and was always late getting on the air. Flagg made up a story for why he was late each morning and it became known as Flagg's "Daily Lie". He wanted to be a singer like Otis Redding and was finally given the opportunity to record the single "Popa Momma Romper Stomper for Atlantic Records. The studio musicians were mostly white players, a local Atlanta group "St. John And The Cardinals" who later became "The Atlanta Rhythm Section". The guitar solo on this 45 is Roy Lee Johnson. The tune is "Ca' Purange" by Gene Ammons from the Jungle Soul LP (Prestige 7552) it was Sir Raggedy Flaff's radio theme song.
