Josh B. is correct -- The band is actually called "Assagai", not "Assagi"
The song is one of eight on a LP released entitled "Afro Rock". The LP is on a British label and is dated 1971. Other tracks: Wanga, La La, Dalani, Bayeza, Sanga, Come Along, and Kinzambi. Such a great album...

I think the band is actually called Assagai, who did some great recordings on the Vertigo label.. The musicians are Africans that were residing in the UK at the time...look for the track " Telephone Girl", it's very nice....

Drums-Louis Moholo
Alto sax-Dudu Pukwana
Coronet-Mogezi Feza
Tenor Sax-Bizo Muggikana
Guitar-Fred Coker
Bass-Charles Cuanogbo

The above players are on the Vertigo recordings.
