Mr. Averheart, who passed away at the age of 71 in 2004, was born in Richland, Texas. He later lived in Corsicana and the city he is most identified with, Dallas, Texas. He fought in World War II, was a licensed pilot, and owned a motel in Dallas. He was, you could say, kind of a Black version of Howard Hughes without some of the eccentricities and excess. Averheart, a bassist who was possibly named after Booker T. Washington, was also a philanthropist. He recorded the last record ever released on the Soultex label.

SLTX-1932-1 is Booker T Averheart's I Wanta Be President b/w Red Medallions - which is rad too!
Pick 1933 up for 100 beans at (a deal in my humble opinion).

Bad Medicine - Trespasser Pt 2
