Ok. This is Bobby Byrd. It is on 45. It comes in blue. It comes in black. It comes on King. It comes on comps. I like the blue one. My friend has two.

It's not even a 45. This audio is taken from an edited version (note the extended intro) taken from the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series on LP.

In an interview conducted by Martin Lawrie, James Bell said the Highlighters held court every weekend at the 20 Grand Nightclub in Indianapolis. In the interview he also discusses his Three Diamonds label, on which a rare soul record by James Bell and The Highlighters Band, titled "The Love of My Girl", appears.

Labelled as being the epitemy of funk by many collectors, a copy is on sale at this moment on the net should reach somewhere around 300gbp probably.

Written By James Bell. The version I have is on the Three Diamonds (yellow) label, cat # 001 (PRP 13071). Produced by The Highlighters Band. Now I know why this had a compilation named after it! The label address was 2851 North Lasalle, Indianapolis, Ind. 46218. Clocks in at 3.30 on the button, flipside is Part Two.
