Pearly Queen is a Cuban-American funk band from Miami Springs, Florida. The vocalist on "Quit Jive'In" is Albert Arguelles, also the group's guitarist. Sound Triangle, the Manny Matos-owned label which also released recordings by Coke, one of the progenitors of the Miami latin funk scene, released Pearly Queen's rare "Treasure Hunt" album in 1974. Pearly Queen also has another rare album (circa 1976) called "Disco" on the Lita label. Two tracks from Pearly Queen are also featured on the Funk Revival-Sounds from the Subtropics compilation, and there is also a Pearly Queen vs Wild Wind compilation. Quit Jive'In is not on either Pearly Queen album, it was a one-off 45. On 7/4/07, after 20 private bids, a copy was sold on ebay for $1,325.00. The record can be heard on the Brainfreeze mix and Florida Funk compilation.
