The Swinging 7 Soul Band made a harder, faster version of this record with "Soul Pusher". The main difference between the two records is the intro - on "Soul Pusher" the wah wah guitar effects are heard from the first few notes, whereas the more classic "Cold Bear" has a completely different intro. The Gaturs were led by keyboardist Wilson Turbinton aka Willie Tee, who passed away Sept 2007. Willie Tee had been recording for the Nola label, but when that label folded he decided to create the Gatur label in 1968. "Cold Bear" is featured on the Tuff City Funky Delicacies-issued "Wasted" LP, which is the first official release of the Gaturs 45s in LP format.
